Sales item codes that do not describe the item

We use Sales item codes that do not describe the item. I want to run a sales report that shows the total quantity of an item for last year. The report shows the item but does not describe the item. Does anyone know how to do this without exporting to Excel and manually typing in the item description which is part of the item code setup file in QB?

Which report are you using?

You should be able to use the Sales by Item Detail report. Click on the report's Modify button, and then, in the Columns selection box check mark "Item Description".

I want to see a summary of items sold for 2007; the detail report can do this but it does not subtotal each item. It seems to me someone else would have this probelm and hopefuly a soloutilon.
