Hi,

> What can you offer me for a beef cattle operation for record keeping that is simple to learn and use.

That's a pretty broad question.

It depends on exactly what you want the system to do--everyone seems to want different levels of capability and complexity.

Our company focuses on providing support and enhancements for QuickBooks, mainly in the area of general farm bookkeeping--not necessarily anything specialized for beef. And as you know "beef cattle operation" can mean a lot of different things, with lots of different recordkeeping needs...cow/calf? stockers? feedlot? direct retail marketing? They all call for different types of records.

We will soon have a new version of our ManagePLUS for QuickBooks product out, which expands the quantity handling and management reporting (like revenue & costs per pound and per head of cattle sold, etc.) of a set of records kept in QuickBooks. But learning to use QuickBooks first is the key.

We don't have a turnkey solution to offer you. Most people who do farm records with QuickBooks spend the first year learning in general how to use it effectively. Our QuickBooks Farm Accounting Cookbook™ (http://www.goflagship.com/products/cbkhome.htm) is a big help in getting started right.

ManagePLUS would be a next step. And beyond that, Texas A&M University has a set of Excel spreadsheets for implementing its SPA cow herd performance analysis system which works with QuickBooks, I believe.

Good luck!
