FormCalc takes a long time to work through my invoice form. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Thank you.

Go to the Preferences tab, then the Program subtab. You'll see a "Keystroke delay" field. Increase the Keystroke delay by a small amount--say, 10 units--then invoke FormCalc to process a QuickBooks form. If FormCalc works properly, try decreasing the delay by another 10 units and try it again. Repeat these steps until FormCalc fails to properly process the form, then finally, increase the Keystroke delay by 10 or 20 units.

Hopefully, overall you will have been able to decrease the Keystroke delay from its original value, which will make FormCalc process the QuickBooks form faster.

When using a small Keystroke delay (i.e., set very close to "not enough") once in a while FormCalc may not process your QuickBooks form properly. If this happens, you have two options: (1) try increasing the Keystroke delay slightly, or (2) if you saved the form in QuickBooks before invoking FormCalc, use QuickBooks' Edit|Revert menu command to return the form to its prior state, then try FormCalc again. I prefer uption (2): it means I get to use the small, quick Keystroke delay which makes FormCalc fast most of the time, and only rarely requires me to re-process the form.

Note: As installed, FormCalc begins with a Keystroke delay value larger than most users need. This prevents some confusion among first-time users. But it also means most users can speed up FormCalc by using the steps described above.
