Default Can FormCalc SST calculate hours from two times?

[Duplicated from email support]

Can FormCalc calculate hours from two times, for example: if a time column has 1800-2200, calculate 6 in an hours column (HRS in the screenshot below).

Yes, you can do this, but some changed would be needed:

(1) Our FormCalc product will not do that, but our FormCalc SST product should: http://www.goflagship.com/products/sst.htm. You'd have to upgrade because FormCalc SST costs more. But you can download and try it before buying: http://www.goflagship.com/dnloads/sstdownld.htm

(2) To make the time values useable, you'd need to put the start time in one column, and the end time in another. Then the FormCalc SST formula could calculate Total Hours.

Hello Mark

I did download formcalc sst

I did figure out how to total a column but as far as calculating time can you tell me how to do it.

I need to be able to calculate time either in military time or normal time whichever will work with the software and then have the results placed in the hours column. Which intern QuickBooks will multiply the rate to get total cost.

Thanks

Sam S.

Sam,

Attached is TOTAL CALC_2.SSF for you to try. It works with military time values (0...2400).

I didn't know how you might want the hours rounded. You can format with a specific number of decimal places--or none at all-- by right-clicking the formula in cell E21 and selecting Format, then choosing appropriate formatting options.

Almost got it but when using for example 1830 to 0900 it gives me 15.166666.

OK, here's an FormCalc SST data file with a better-tested formula. The formula is:

Code:
=IF(I21>H21,TRUNC(I21/100)-TRUNC(H21/100)+MOD(I21,100)/60-MOD(H21,100)/60,24-TRUNC(H21/100)+TRUNC(I21/100)-MOD(H21,100)/60+MOD(I21,100)/60)
You can see it in place in FormCalc SST, in the screenshot below.
