Resources for Learning ManagePLUS

The following resources are available to help you learn about and use ManagePLUS.

•	All new users should have a look at the Introduction (what you are reading right now), ManagePLUS Windows Basics, and Quick Start Basics sections.

•	The How To... section provides step-by-step procedures for many common tasks, so it can be especially helpful to beginners.

When you install the ManagePLUS software, one or more sample QuickBooks company (.QBW) files are also installed, in a subfolder of the Shared Documents folder. On most computers the path to this folder is:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\ManagePLUS\Sample QuickBooks Company Files\

You may load the files you find in this folder into QuickBooks, to help you learn ManagePLUS. They:

1.	Demonstrate ManagePLUS-specific techniques, such as how to enter two quantities in a QuickBooks transaction.

2.	Serve as a source of transaction data and as a place to enter "test" transactions so you can see their effect in ManagePLUS without having to enter them in your actual QuickBooks company file.

3.	Are the subject of various ManagePLUS tutorials, videos, etc. You can load a sample file into QuickBooks and use it to duplicate the steps in a tutorial or video.

The ManagePLUS User's Guide is a PDF version of this Help system. Unlike on-screen Help, the PDF file is specifically formatted for printing on your printer. If you prefer having a printed manual it's a much better choice than printing out individual Help topics—they rarely print exactly as you expect them to. There are two ways to get the file:

•	Download it from the ManagePLUS Downloads page on our Web site:

•	Purchase the Flagship Software CD. For a nominal price, it gets you current installation files for all our software products, the ManagePLUS User's Guide file, and the product videos from our Web site, all on CD. It's available from our Online Orders Web page:

Viewing and printing PDF files requires the Adobe Reader software. Most computers already have Adobe Reader or a compatible PDF program installed, but if yours doesn't you can download a free copy from

www.adobe.com.

The ManagePLUS Videos & Tutorials Library is a section of our Web site containing videos you can view in your Web browser, and other ManagePLUS tutorials:

Most of the videos are short "how-to" presentations showing the steps for doing a particular task in ManagePLUS and/or QuickBooks.

We maintain an online discussion forum specifically for ManagePLUS product support, as well as other forums for related to QuickBooks accounting, etc. You'll find them all here:

•	The discussion forums are the best place to ask questions and get answers as you go about learning ManagePLUS. Answers can come both from our technical support staff and from other ManagePLUS users.

•

The forums have a Search feature. Your question has most likely already been asked by someone else and answered in the forums, so the fastest way to find an answer is often to search in the forums. From any forum page, click on the Search link near the top of the page, then enter the word or phrase you want to find.

The QuickBooks Farm Accounting Cookbook™ is a 370-page how-to guide and reference book for anyone who uses QuickBooks in agriculture. It contains very little information about ManagePLUS. However, this book is an excellent source of information about setting up and using QuickBooks and a farm or ranch business. As such, it can help smooth out the process of using both QuickBooks and ManagePLUS.The first one-fourth of the book is devoted to setting up QuickBooks for a farm or ranch business (the Chart of Accounts, the Classes list, knowing which QuickBooks forms to use and which ones to avoid, etc.). The remainder of the book contains step-by-step "recipes" for common agricultural accounting tasks in QuickBooks.
