In this topic:

When running under Microsoft Windows Vista and later Windows versions, QuickBooks (beginning with QuickBooks 2007) will only allow third-party programs like ManagePLUS to access QuickBooks data if User Account Control (UAC) is turned on. So if you use QuickBooks 2007 or later on Vista or Windows 7, you must turn on UAC in order to use ManagePLUS. If you don't, ManagePLUS will display an error message when it attempts to refresh data from QuickBooks.

Turning on User Account Control is required by QuickBooks, not by ManagePLUS.
